This talk - organized by the Platform for Public Health in Burgos- is an opportunity to reflect, learn and mobilize in defense of a fundamental right.
Azucena Santillán (nurse) and Pablo Oyagüez (pediatrician-intensivist at HUBU), are the speakers and hosts of this talk in which a general question is addressed: Why is it still necessary to defend Public Health?
-It addresses with technical rigor and territorial perspective the current challenges of the Spanish health system with special attention to Castilla y León.
-The ethical, social and economic foundations that justify a public, universal and quality model are analyzed, highlighting its role in equity, social cohesion and the protection of collective health.
-The sustained disinvestment that threatens public health is denounced, causing waiting lists, a shortage of professionals and deterioration of infrastructure, especially in rural and aging areas like those in our Community.
-The talk underlines the urgency of strengthening Primary Care as the backbone of the system, key to guaranteeing accessibility, continuity of care and efficiency.
Free entry until capacity is reached.
