Book presentation: " Innovation and values in future libraries: direction and management of the future public library service."

Libraries face an uncertain future, but one that inevitably involves serving as a toolbox for people. Among the resources libraries possess are culture, science, language, and the people themselves, with their best qualities. Libraries will consider innovation, rationality, emotional intelligence, ethics, and other factors for their progress. They will also reflect on the risks that could weaken the legitimacy and trust they currently hold for the public. Ultimately, the values that libraries uphold will ensure they become an essential institution for the betterment of the individuals and the society they serve.

Roberto García Arribas currently works as a librarian at the Segovia Public Library. He has worked in the Spanish General State Administration, the Justice Administration, and the private sector. He has training in libraries, public administration, philosophy, and communication.
