The Thirteen Roses is the collective name given to a group of thirteen young women, half of them members of the Unified Socialist Youth, who were shot by the Franco regime in Madrid on August 5, 1939, shortly after the end of the Spanish Civil War. Their ages ranged between 18 and 29. The enormous media coverage of these events has led to their retelling not only on a strictly historical level but, transcending barriers, the event has become part of the worlds of literature, film, theater, music, and more.

Las 13 Rosas is a work of historical memory, inspired by thirteen women among the many who lost their lives in the Civil War. To reach the audience, we use flamenco music and dance, among other musical styles, as a symbol, as well as everyday objects, which are also a living part of the scene and the rhythm that surrounds it.

Las Trece Rosas is a combination of theater and flamenco that features live performances of flamenco music, singing, and dancing.

Estíbaliz Núñez's work stages, in a flamenco style, experiences taken from the Civil War, wrapped in a tragic tone that precedes the story.

Genre: Theatre. Style: Tragic-comic. Duration: 90 min.

Show included in the programming of the Network of Theatres of Castilla y León.
