WORKSHOP ON GAMES, INSTRUMENTS, INVENTIVENESS AND CHILDREN'S FOLKLORE

My dual role as a musician and music education specialist culminates in this interdisciplinary show. It's a concert, but it's also a hands-on session on playing spoons and pans. It's a storytelling session where Parra will recount tales of bullroarers, wolves, and shepherds, while simultaneously serving as a workshop where we'll construct some simple traditional instruments. It's a disguised lesson in mnemonic techniques for learning traditional tongue twisters, and at the same time, it's an introduction for our little ones to manual skills by building a stork puppet. We'll also try making music with unexpected objects like a balloon or a plastic bag, while exploring ecological concepts and understanding our environment through the characters in our traditional songs. It's a multidisciplinary session where we aim to foster our children's love for music, folklore, and their surroundings, while activating their intelligence, creativity, and sense of play. All of this is based on traditional games and music. We will do clapping games, musical improvisations, build objects, sing, dance, give our opinions, walk on stilts and have a good time.

The workshop can be done in one session of about 70 minutes or several different sessions can be planned.
