From September 1 to 30, the exhibition "Raúl Ferreras: His Musical Legacy" will be on display in the Library lobby.
Raúl Ferreras Argüello
He was a pioneering local musician in the early 1960s, perhaps one of the first. In 1964, he founded his first group, the duo PALMER BOYS, in which he played guitar and sang with Concha Palomero, hence the name (Palomero, Palmer). His father, a very skilled carpenter, built him an electric guitar modeled on the rare and expensive ones available in Leon at the time. Passionate about music, electronics, and his work, he spent his adolescence linked to music, forming part of the cast of the great groups of the 1960s as a guitarist: Los Arañas, Los Cometas, Almacén de Caramelos, and numerous gigs with great friends and colleagues from other musical groups.
In January 1981, he founded the recording studio, "Caskabel," a landmark in his city, both nationally and internationally. Taking our city's name to places like Tokyo, London, France, and more, it became a landmark.
For its time, the studio boasted cutting-edge technology, both analog and digital.
Passing away on December 27, 2003, he leaves a deep void but a great legacy that will endure forever. As many have described him, "A sound wizard who improves everything he touches, and whose secret lies in his professionalism and product quality."
During the month of September, a small exhibition, initiated by José Manuel Mures , will pay tribute to his legacy in the Library lobby.
