The Aranda de Duero City Council and the Castilian and Leonese Institute of Language are organizing a screening of the short documentary film "Cabezones " on Friday, January 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the Ibercaja auditorium in Aranda de Duero. The film is an original work by the writer and playwright Luis Enrique Valdés and the actor Alberto Maceo, both Cuban exiles living in Spain and Germany, respectively. This event is part of the new joint cultural series "Music, Image, and Word," designed by both institutions for Aranda de Duero, which includes a variety of cultural offerings.

The documentary screening is followed by a discussion led by Luis Enrique Valdés, co-director of the film. The short film, which officially premiered in April 2024 at the Teatro Zorrilla in Valladolid, aims to spark reflection on the filmmakers' own experience of exile. Cabezones is a story of resilience between rural Spain and Cuba, documenting the round trip undertaken by Nicolás Cabezón, a native of Valladolid and founder of Cabezón y Feíto , the most famous hardware store in downtown Havana, located on the corner of Reina and Lealtad streets, now known to many Havana residents as La Cubana.
