Serigosa Folk

Iberian folk trio formed by: Blanca Sevilleja, cellist and singer; Natercia Lameiro , composer, singer and dancer; Cristina Imaz , singer-songwriter.

[folk music + contemporary sounds]

Segirosa is a band where traditional folk music blends with contemporary sounds. Its members fuse traditional Castilian and Portuguese songs with instruments ranging from square tambourines, cello, and accordion to drum machines and harmonizers.
Serigosa has been steadily building its career on national and international stages, appearing at festivals such as Tradidanças, Andanças, and Son de Raíz. Their sound, which they describe as "Iberian, acoustic, and bold," bridges tradition and the present, the intimate and the collective, memory and creation. They offer a musical journey through Iberian roots, fusing tradition and modernity and weaving together the essence of traditional songs from the Iberian Peninsula. From Sephardic ballads to the rhythms of bakers' kneading, their repertoire includes traditional songs sung by women, as well as their own original compositions.

With a fresh, intimate and powerful sound, they evoke the memory of generations, seeking to create a bridge between the women of yesterday and today.
