The exhibition "Screams from the wall: posters from around the world for human rights" - organized by the Burgos group of Amnesty International - consists of about twenty posters made by the Amnesty International sections of different countries around the world over the years.
The posters cover a range of topics, all related to the organization's human rights work. These topics include freedom of expression, torture, the death penalty, economic, social, and cultural rights, gender-based violence, and the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community. Each poster is accompanied by a brief explanatory text and a QR code that links to more information on the topic on Amnesty International's website.
The goal is to denounce human rights violations occurring around the world and to raise public awareness of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, encouraging citizens to commit to its defense. This is a shared responsibility that cannot be left solely to the governments that have signed it or to the NGOs working to implement it. It is everyone's responsibility to ensure that all human rights reach all people. According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights itself, this is a challenge in which peace, justice, and freedom in the world are at stake.
The opening will be on Friday, November 6th at 7pm, and will include a screening of the documentary "This is Gaza", directed by Tom Besley.
