On Friday, October 23 , in the Auditorium of the Public Library of Palencia, to celebrate Library Day, the company La Chana Teatro This link will open in a pop-up window. presents its work Pisando el Llano, based on the work of Juan Rulfo El Llano en llamas .

A performance brimming with emotion and beauty, combining object theater and visual language, in which Jaime Santos immerses us in the universe of Juan Rulfo. An unadorned monologue, three stories, three tales, three testimonies from the Llanos that narrate the orphanhood, the desolation, the harshness, and the poetry of the deserts.

We don't know if there's a valid reason to delve again into Juan Rulfo's stories, "In the Burning Plain ," as if this substantial work, seemingly already discovered, were an infinite desert where, whether you look for it or not, you find buried ropes; and in that infinite nothingness, how can one not want to pull on them? And once you pull, it's as if they tie you up, and you no longer know if you're clinging to a hope or if, without hope, you're clinging to nothing.

Rulfo is that substance and that infinite desert; the infinite desert of substance.
