Its creation reflects the desire to preserve and show the public the Spanish car heritage. MHAS funds from the collection Gómez-Planche, consisting of more than one hundred cars collected over more than forty years.

The MHAS has a permanent exhibition in which about ninety vehicles show the evolution of the car through its design.
