Malenfant holds a university diploma in natural environmental interpretation (Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles), a bachelor's degree in environmental studies (University of Ottawa), and a postgraduate diploma in applied sustainable development (UQAC). She has also completed several specific training courses in mycology. After working as an environmental project manager, consultant, and university professor, Ms. Malenfant worked in applied research at Biopterre for seven years, specifically developing the potential of non-timber forest products and fungi, with businesses and communities in Quebec. She currently holds the position of mycodevelopment project manager at the Kamouraska MRC.

Kamouraska Mycologique is a territorial development project that aims to revitalize the region by promoting the diverse potential of fungi. This is an innovative and promising approach to wealth creation, the development of a distinctive identity, and the revitalization of Kamouraska as a whole.
