He began his professional career in 1978 as a contributor to the newspaper Informaciones and participated in the founding of Viajar magazine. He has been a hotel critic for EL PAÍS, the Spanish-language newspaper with the largest circulation, since 1987. He is the founder and promoter of the Hoteles con Encanto brand. He is also the founder and CEO of Notodohoteles.com, a pioneering hotel recommendation website. He is a regular speaker at conferences, conventions, and seminars on hospitality and tourism in Spain, Portugal, and Latin America. In 39 years of professional practice, he has visited more than 26,000 hotels worldwide.
He is a visiting professor at forums and universities in several countries such as Andorra (Government of Andorra), Greece (Directive XXIII of the European Union in Athens), Italy (International Congress of Thermal Tourism of Naples- Istria), Chile (DuocUC – Valparaíso) and Spain (Menéndez Pelayo Summer University – Santander, Complutense University of Madrid, Polytechnic University of Madrid, University of Coruña, University of Oviedo, University of Cádiz, ESDEN Business School Madrid, Artxanda School of Hospitality, School of Hospitality of the Balearic Islands, School of Hospitality of Barcelona).
