The location of Peñaflor de Hornija makes it an excellent viewpoint overlooking the River Hornija Valley. Thanks to its strategic location, it has been inhabited since prehistoric times. It practically marks the start of the Torozo Hills, whose striking landscape will accompany pilgrims for several kilometres.
This town also includes the following sites of interest: the Parish Church of Santa María de la Expectación, the Chapel of El Santo Cristo de las Eras and the Church of El Salvador.
