Poetic rumors: Antonio and the Machado and Guiomar brothers

They were poets on opposing sides in a Civil War that bled the blood of 1930s Spain. The first was considered an obsolete poet, yet his verses never go out of style: neither then nor now. He is known as the poet of Castile, the poet of the countryside, or Spain's most beloved poet: Antonio Machado. The second, overshadowed by his younger brother and by the scorn of later critics and poets, who considered him a traitor to the Republican cause, combines a taste for popular forms and Andalusian folklore, albeit with a more pessimistic conception of existence: Manuel Machado. And there is also a third Machado, who grew up both personally and literarily in the shadow of the previous ones: Francisco Machado. Today, in Poetic Rumors, we talk about the Machado brothers... but above all about Antonio...
