Miguel Xavier Ponce

A chef born and raised in Guayaquil, he began his career in Buenos Aires. He has continued his professional training in Lima, New York, Guadalajara, and San Sebastián. He has won two Gold Medals and two Silver Medals for four participations in Cooking Competitions. He has worked in several hotels and restaurants, including "Christophe" in Buenos Aires, the "Martín Berasategui" Restaurant, and the "El Celler de Can Roca" Restaurant. He was a Professor and Academic Coordinator at the UEES School of Gastronomic Sciences for seven years. He founded #NidoGYE, a collective where he has organized more than 20 traveling, creative avant-garde culinary sessions in various restaurants and locations across the country. He is currently the Executive Chef of the Hotel Oro Verde in Guayaquil.
