Ricardo CostaRicardo Costa Born on August 12, 1979, Ricardo Costa is one of Portugal's leading chefs. Ricardo studied at the Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo in Coimbra and discovered his passion for cooking early on. His experience includes working in various hotels and restaurants in mainland Portugal, Madeira, Spain, and England. Ricardo has worked at the El Girasol Restaurant and Sheraton Porto Hotel & Spa. Ricardo was also chef at The Portal Restaurant in London. In 2009 and 2010, Ricardo was awarded a Michelin star while serving as Executive Chef at Largo do Paço Restaurant at the Casa da Calçada Hotel in Amarante. He received the 2009 Chef of the Year award from the prestigious Portuguese magazine Wine, and is considered a leader of the new generation of Portuguese chefs. He currently serves as Executive Chef at The Yeatman, responsible for its kitchens, most notably the Gourmet Restaurant. In November 2011, The Yeatman Restaurant was awarded a Michelin star and in 2017 it obtained its second Michelin star.
