J. Carlos Díez Fernández-LomanaJ. Carlos Díez Fernández-Lomana Archaeologist. Professor of Prehistory at the University of Burgos.

Graduated from the Complutense University of Madrid, with an Extraordinary Doctorate Award, and with stays in Bonn (Germany), Marseille (France), and Ferrara (Italy). He has worked at the National Archaeological Museum, the Complutense University of Madrid, the National Museum of Natural Sciences (CSIC), and the University of Aix-en-Provence (France).

He has taught master's and doctoral courses at several Spanish universities (Cádiz, Salamanca, Rovira i Virgili, and the Basque Country). He has supervised eight doctoral theses and has successfully completed numerous master's and undergraduate theses.

He has participated in national projects (Atapuerca, Valdegoba, Fonelas, Tamajón, etc.) and international projects (Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Morocco, Italy and France).

He specializes in the archaeological study of bone remains to understand the diet and hunting strategies of Paleolithic hominids. He is the author of 11 books, 26 book chapters, and 105 articles in scientific journals, including Nature, Science, PNAS, Journal of Human Evolution, Journal of Archaeological Science, Archaeological and Anthropological Sciences, and Quaternary Science Reviews.
