Patrick Lupien
Speaker
Forestry engineer, coordinator of the Mauricie Mycological Association since 2012, head of the Forestry Management Department and the Mauricie Timber Producers Marketing Board since 2000.
Continuously active in the development and implementation of silvicultural approaches adapted to Quebec's deciduous and mixed forests, as an author and contributor to several publications, including the Ministry of Forestry's silvicultural guides, Mr. Lupien has been actively involved in the creation and management of the Mauricie Mycological Association since 2012.
With the goal of implementing high-quality standards in the mycological activities offered, he is passionate about recognizing artisans and the mycological sector as a center of economic development in rural and urban areas of the Mauricie region.
Aware that the sector must become more professional to gain recognition, it participates, among other things, in the creation of tools for disseminating food regulations, the creation of a certification program for mycological guides, the development of an educational program for young people, and the democratization of gastronomy, guaranteeing access to forest foods for chefs and the general public, with the aim of creating tangible opportunities for entrepreneurs.
