In the municipality of Baltanás, a neighborhood with more than 374 wineries is preserved outside the walls, attached to the hamlet. It is one of the most outstanding excavated assemblages in Castilla y León, not only because of its size and number of wineries, but also because of its good state of conservation, its antiquity and its characteristic urban and landscape structure. The most prominent element that distinguishes the complex, and justifies its declaration as an Asset of Cultural Interest, is the formation of a peculiar landscape as a result of the excavation of the wineries in the same location, following a collective construction plan in which streets are formed. horizontal lines that run down the hill, reaching five levels of superimposed cellars in some areas.
