Marsia Taha Mohamed, recognized as the Best Female Chef in Latin America 2024, has dedicated more than a decade to promoting Bolivian gastronomy worldwide. Inspired by the traditional flavors her grandmother taught her at the markets, Taha formalized her passion by studying cooking in Bolivia and Spain, complementing her training with internships at prestigious Danish restaurants such as Studio and Geist.

In 2013, she joined the Gustu team in La Paz, a project with an ambitious social objective: to transform Bolivian cuisine into a driving force for socioeconomic development. At Gustu, Taha quickly rose through the ranks, moving from assistant to Head Chef in 2017. From there, she exerted a significant influence, recreating ancestral flavors and incorporating native ingredients into a menu that has consistently positioned Gustu among the 50 Best Restaurants in Latin America. Her work also led her to give a lecture at Harvard University on high-altitude cooking techniques, and she is a co-founder of Sabores Silvestres, a project dedicated to rescuing Bolivian biodiversity.
