Fan-Ti Liao
Participating Chef - Taiwan
Restaurant: Mosel, Taipei, Taiwan
Fan-Ti Liao is a self-taught chef who trained in her family's restaurants in Taiwan. Her passion for cooking has led her since childhood to research and practice with local produce. She says that cooking comes from the heart. Her parents, who own a restaurant in Taipei, and her uncles, who own a luxury restaurant in Germany, have been her greatest inspiration. After graduating from university, she decided to open her own restaurant in Taipei, called La Denise, a Western restaurant heavily influenced by Spanish cuisine and Spanish wines. She won a scholarship from the Spanish Government's Institute of Foreign Trade to do an internship at one of Spain's leading restaurants, spending several months in the kitchens of Ramón Freixa (2-star Michelin). Her time in Spain fueled her desire to continue learning from the best, and she decided to return, this time to Barcelona to work with the Disfrutar team (1-star Michelin). After his time in Spain, he returned to Taiwan to run the family restaurant Mosel, where he continues to evolve his cuisine every day, trying to win over and surprise his customers.
